A four-time CMO, I’ve spent over 20 years building and scaling exceptional brands across digital media, consumer tech, and enterprise software. I’ve built full-stack marketing teams around the world, overseeing every function from brand to growth to product marketing – and more. 

A good friend once said about me that I know how to “find the plot.” In other words, I help brands figure out who they are and why they matter, especially as they pivot or expand into new areas. Every business wants scale and long-lasting product-market-fit, but without the fundamentals – a deep understanding of the customer and the job(s) to be done, rock-solid positioning, and a consistently great end-to-end brand experience – the plot gets lost and things go sideways quickly (the business equivalent of jumping the shark).

This matrix is a true representation of my career and capabilities. I’ve literally been a teacher and a coach, and have racked up a lot of experience advising and consulting for some of the most innovative companies.

I map my professional experiences against “focus” and “people”. Regarding focus, some experiences require me to “zoom-in” on a specific topic or task, while others are more “zoom out” and require big picture, more strategic thinking. When it comes to people, sometimes the audience is quite large, while other times it’s a more intimate, 1:1 setting. In the center I have C-level leadership, because the reality is you have to play every role – teacher, consultant, coach, and advisor. Some days you’re in the trenches solving specific problems with a few people, and other days you’re addressing the entire company.
